Clive Bailey was Flight Director for the third year running at this year's Bristol Fiesta balloon day.
A lot of hard work but very rewarding to see so many balloons flying safely. The balloons flew 5 out of the 7 slots.

Tintern Abbey
Launch site: Tintern Abbey, Wye Valley, South Wales
This year has seen some spectacular hot air balloon rides along the Wye
Valley allowing views of the Welsh mountains, The Brecon Beacons and other
local landmarks such as Raglan Castle. What a great balloon day!

Raglan Castle
Launch site: Monmouth, South Wales
On a hot summer's evening after a take off from Monmouth, Clive and Jo along
with passengers flew directly over the ancient Raglan Castle and then later
landed just outside the historic market town of Abergavenny. Another great balloon day.

This was a superb morning for flying and the wind took us towards Thornbury,
the visibility allowed us spectacular views over the Severn Estuary to Wales.
Two of the passengers were delighted as we flew over their house.

St Mary's Radcliffe Church and the Matthew in Bristol City Centre
Launch site: Ashton Court, Bristol
This evening flight from Ashton Court took us over the centre of Bristol
allowing stunning views of the city and its treasures such as the Matthew and
St Mary's Radcliffe Church. The light was particularly special with deep
colours looking vibrant. Clive landed the balloon in one of our favourite
farms near Wick to the West of Bristol.

Bristol Balloon Fiesta Bailey Balloons Team

Just some of Bailey Balloons crew and pilots who help with the setting up and
inflation of the balloon, following it during the flight, speaking with
landowners and packing the balloon away: a great team. The Bristol Balloon
Fiesta is always hard work, but the pilots and crew really enjoy it with the
excitement of taking off with so many other balloons.

A fine July morning, spring is well on its way with the trees taking colour and
everything looking crisp and fresh. The take off from Royal Victoria Park
afforded views of Royal York Crescent and the final landing was at Cadbury's
chocolate factory, Keynsham.

Clifton Suspension Bridge

Bird's eye view of Clifton Suspension Bridge with the Cameron Balloons staff
syndicate balloon in the foreground. The balloon flew on and landed on the
outskirts of Yate.

Jo & Clive Bailey

Jo & Clive after many years of flying still love the chance to fly
together, fly separately or just fly. Clive is also now a qualified sky diver
and is working hard to build up the expertise so that he can dive out of the
balloon which Jo is piloting.

Leeds Castle Balloon Meet
Launch site: Leeds Castle
The Seeboard Energy balloon flew for the first time over the moat of the
stunning Leeds Castle in Kent. The balloons were paired up with Bentleys who
acted as retrieve vehicles for the passengers.

Bertie Bassett Hot Air Balloon

A favourite special shaped balloon especially with the children on one of its last flights. It is now sadly too old to fly.

The Red Letter Day Hot Air Balloon

Bailey Balloons is part of the Balloons over Britain Network that covers the whole of Britain.
This network also operates the Red Letter Day balloon. Here one of our pilots flies low over a quarry in Long Ashton, Bristol.

The Piper

The flying Scotsman! This balloon, affectionately known as Pipey, is owned by Scotsman
Muir Moffat who flies this spectacular balloon which is also one of the children's favourite
especially when the bagpipes are played as he takes off! Pipey closed the Fiesta on the Sunday.
