Discover the magic of Bristol International Balloon Fiesta from 11th-14th August 2016!
Now in it’s 38th year, it is Europe’s largest ballooning event and the free four-day event is as much part of Bristol culture as the Clifton Suspension Bridge or Banksy. The Fiesta will see hundreds of balloons take to the skies, with beautiful Bristol providing the backdrop.
The best place to see the balloons up close and personal, in all their inflatable glory is at the fiesta itself. Early birds can catch a mass morning ascent at 6am on 12th, 13th and 14th August, evening ascents take place at 6pm every day from 11th-14th August. The amazing ‘nightglows’ – when the balloons illuminate the night sky to music – followed by a fireworks finale, are held at 9-9.30pm on Thursday 11th and Saturday 13th August. During the day there’s plenty to see and do at the fiesta site including fairground rides, bands and food stalls. For the best view in all the city, you can even pre-book a balloon flight for a breath-taking experience like no other.
