A new hot air balloon festival has been scheduled to take place in Enfield later on this summer.
The event is set to take place in July at the London Borough’s Town Park. It will be one of the capital’s only hot air balloon festivals taking place this year.
David Bailey, one of the festival’s organisers, said that Enfield Park would be a perfect venue for the event as it would be a spectacular sight to see the balloons launching from the site. The event was put together alongside Love Your Doorstep, Enfield’s community business platform and Sophia’s Diary, a children’s directory.
The Enfield Balloon Festival will be held on the weekend of July 21 and 22 and will feature a whole host of entertainment suitable for all ages. One of the highlights of the festival will be the nightglow, which has been scheduled to take place on the Saturday evening.
Visitors to the event will be able to get up close to the hot air balloons, with a variety of balloons being on display. As well as this, there will be numerous street food vendors and bars, fairground rides, owl displays and a reptile tent. Furthermore, there will be a medieval exhibition from the Knights of Nottingham and motorcycle and BMX demos. A fireworks display will cap off the weekend.
Those who want to experience their own flights will find that they can take a hot air balloon flight in Bath, Bristol and many other locations across the UK.
