What is involved

The ballooning experience

We usually meet our passengers one hour after sunrise and three hours before sunset when the winds are calmest, but we will confirm these times when you book your flight. The actual hot air balloon ride lasts about one hour, but the whole experience, from setting up the balloon to drinking champagne on landing and returning to the launch site, takes three to four hours.

We meet you at the launch site where you can help us prepare the balloon for take-off if you wish. Your pilot then gives a full safety briefing and answers any questions that you may have at this point. The balloon then gently lifts off the ground and we drift over surrounding town and countryside. You'll have plenty of time to enjoy the views and take pictures, we always suggest taking twice as many batteries  as you think you’ll need! During the flight the pilot takes an in-flight photograph, which you can order after the flight and we will send to you in a presentation frame, which makes a great momento of your flight.











Our retrieve crew follow the balloon and meet us on landing, ready to pack away the balloon. We then celebrate with a traditional champagne toast (beer and orange juice is also available), and present you with your personalised flight certificate signed by your pilot before you are driven back to the launchsite.
