Bristol Balloon Fiesta mass ascent
“We flew as part of the mass ascent on Saturday morning at the Bristol International Balloon fiesta 2018. We were lucky with the weather and the atmosphere of the fiesta was absolutely buzzing. I would recommend booking well in advance as some of my friends tried booking in and were not able to because they were fully booked. We had a slightly adventurous landing, where we bumped on the ground a couple of times before we slid on the grass and landed sideways. All added to the fun! Finishing with chilled Chamapgne on the Bristol Downs!”

The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is the largest balloon Fiesta in Europe and one of the largest outdoor events in the UK with over half a million visitors attending over the four day festival. Every morning and evening (weather permitting of course) there will be a tremendous mass ascent with up to 150 beautiful hot air balloons taking to the sky creating an awesome sight, both from the basket and for those waving at you from below.
Fiesta flights are subject to suitable and safe weather conditions on the day. All vouchers are NON-REFUNDABLE. If your flight is cancelled at this year’s Fiesta, your voucher will be valid to take a flight with us another time before 1st August 2021 from one of our launch sites across the South West, you will not be able to book another slot at this year’s Fiesta nor will it be valid for the following year’s Fiesta.
With Bailey Balloons you can take to the skies alongside some of the most incredible special shaped hot air balloons, such as the Piper, the Monster, the Tesco shopping trolley and many, many others. When you buy a champagne flight voucher to fly at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta you will receive a special launch site pass and you will be able to take pictures of the hot air balloons close up and take off as part of the mass ascent.
At the 2012 Bristol Balloon Fiesta as part of the Olympics we flew many top International journalists. A Japanese journalist Kazuyo Yasuda O’Neill wrote about her experiences with us on her blog – it is in Japanese!
