If you watched Britain’s Got Talent Saturday 16th April 2011 on ITV1 you may have spotted our own Clive Bailey who flew Ant and Dec for the opening sequences for the latest 2011 auditions. So you may be able to spot Clive in the balloon with Ant & Dec at the start of each of the audition shows.
Clive Bailey of Bailey Balloons has done a lot of filming for TV shows which recently have included BBC The One Show and for Jamie Oliver, but even he was excited about flying the well known TV presenters Ant and Dec. He was asked to film a series of sequences with the Geordie duo to open each of the audition shows.
Clive really enjoyed meeting the co-hosts of Britain’s Got Talent and said “ Ant and Dec were so down to earth (even whilst flying!) and really professional in everything they did even though we had to meet them at 6.00 in the morning for the balloon flight. It was a real pleasure flying them and they would be welcome to fly with me anytime.’
They took to the skies in a special Union Jack balloon that was in keeping with BGT theme, and some of the footage was also taken by a helicopter that flew alongside the balloon at a safe distance. They came into land gently in a large field where the pair then had to dash off to fulfill their next commitment in their busy diaries.
