Hot air balloon festivals are fantastic events that offer lots to see and do. Whether you are a hot air balloon enthusiast or are just looking for a fun event to keep the family entertained, you will always have a great time at a hot air balloon festival. Luckily, although hot air balloon season has all but come to an end in 2013, there are a number of great hot air balloon events still to come – both in the UK and abroad – which you and your family can enjoy.

Below, we have listed five of the most exciting hot air balloon events still to come in 2013. As balloon flights are dependent on weather conditions, so are these events, but all being well they should go ahead as stated.

The Humber Bridge Meet

The Humber Bridge Meet takes place on the 16th and 17th November. Traditionally, it is the last UK hot air balloon meet of the year. It takes place at the Hull Aero Club in East Yorkshire and is a fantastic place to see hot air balloon flights in the North.

India International Balloon Meet

For those of you who like to travel off to far flung places to get your hot air ballooning fix, the India International Balloon Meet is a great hit air balloon event that is sure to offer a few surprises. The New Delhi festival is free to visit and open to all. It even features free hot air balloon rides to Agra and the Taj Mahal, which is a once in a lifetime opportunity no hot air balloon enthusiast will want to pass up.

Le Puy-en-Velay Meeting

French hot air balloons are always very popular with Brits. Not only are they a short flight away, but they also take place amidst some of the most amazing scenery in Europe. The Le Puy- en-Velay meeting takes place, of course, in Le Puy, France. It is one of the most exciting meetings in France, because the area is one of the most beautiful when viewed from above. With ancient churches, rugged volcanoes and natural beauty at every turn, hot air balloon passengers will not be disappointed with their flights.

The meet takes place 8th – 10th November.

The Libyan Balloon Festival

The Libyan Balloon Festival is scheduled to take place 1st – 20th December.

The Libyan weather is perfect for ballooning and the sweeping, arid flatlands, hills and deserts are well and truly stunning when seen from above, so this is definitely one for hot air balloon pilots to add to their schedule.

Christmas Ballooninflation Vrasene

This Belgian hot air balloon festival takes place on Christmas Day, making it one of the most magical balloon festivals of the year. Lovers of beer, balloons and winter landscapes will love this festive balloon festival.

It’s clear that there are still a number of fantastic ballooning events, taking place all over the world between now and New Year, for fans to get involved with.
