Valentine’s Day Balloon Flights

30/01/2014 Jo Bailey News

The most celebrated romantic day of the year is Valentine’s Day. On February
14th people over the world celebrate their love. But how did it all begin?
There were several Christian Saints named Valentinus that were celebrated in
Roman Times. One of these was Saint Valentine of Rome who was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry.

hearts balloonDuring his imprisonment he healed Asterius, the daughter of his jailer, and before his execution he signed a letter to her “Your Valentine”.  Later on in 18th century England the tradition of courtly love evolved into an occasion where lovers expressed their feelings for each other by presenting flowers, confectionary and greeting cards known as ‘Valentines’. We still use the symbols of a heart, often red, as well as doves and Cupid!

Today, Valentine’s Day is the second busiest day of the year for greeting
card makers. However, as well as or instead of sending a greeting card, box
of chocolates and red roses you can make your loved one feel very special by
giving them treasured shared memories…

A Hot Air Balloon flight is an experience that the two of you would share,
and perhaps something you’ve never done before. Imagine gently drifting
along over towns and beautiful countryside with the world at your feet! On
landing you can toast your return to earth with a glass of chilled
Champagne.

Our vouchers can be personalised with your with own special message and if you wish, be presented with a balloon in box, which is big candy-striped box tied with a bow. As they open it a helium balloon floats out and attached is the voucher pack with your personal message. A balloon ride for two with your loved one is a priceless experience.
