Above and Beyond, who raise funds for patient care in South West hospitals, has teamed up with the popular Bristol International Balloon Fiesta in order to raise more money for their cause.

Local company Cameron Balloons has produced a huge 90,000 cubic feet balloon especially for the charity, which it hopes will give a boost to its fund-raising efforts.

Above and Beyond’s chief executive, Sarah Talbot-Williams, said:

“We are passionate about what we do and keen to capture the attention and support of everyone. Our balloon will remind everyone of the importance of the hospitals, which each year care for more than 500,000 people from across the region.”

She went on to say that the charity wanted to create the most successful non-profit fund-raising partnership that the balloon event had ever seen. As the newly created balloon would have an operational life span of up to ten years, Talbot-Williams hopes that it will be helping to inspire charity giving across the South West for many years to come.

Any money raised by the balloon will be given to the charity’s Golden Gift Appeal, which is looking to raise £6m for the Bristol Royal Infirmary and the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.

The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta will take place between the 7th and 10th of August. It is set to feature more than 100 balloons this year. Along with hot air balloon rides, Bristol residents and visitors to the festival can expect to enjoy mass balloon launches, aerial displays and much more besides.
