Rope swinging from hot air balloons is the latest craze

Hot air balloon flights in Bristol, Baltimore, Bali, and beyond have always been extremely popular, as have hot air balloon competitions, but now there is a new and more extreme ballooning activity that is gathering pace: hot air balloon rope swinging.

This involves a group of adrenalin junkies taking to the skies in a hot air balloon with the intention of jumping from the basket. Of course, this is with a rope attached.

It all started when popular Youtube personality Devin ‘Supertramp’ Graham and a number of his friends wanted to make hot air ballooning even more exciting. To do so, they jumped out of a hot air balloon whilst attached to a rope that was connected to another balloon.

The group were all holding cameras as they swung, which means that it is possible to watch the exhilarating event from eleven different vantage points. The footage has been posted on Youtube for other to watch.

The group appear to be located in the desert. The footage shows them first inflating their two hot air balloons, which are tethered together, before climbing into the basket and setting up their ropes for the swing. They then, one by one, jump from the balloon and swing wildly in the sky.

To see the stunt for yourself, all you have to do is search for Graham’s channel on the popular online video site. The footage has already been viewed by many people, so may soon be happening in Britain as well.
