What to expect on a balloon flight over Bath

Bath is one of Britain’s most visited tourist attractions, and features numerous Roman and Georgian buildings. To see the city in a unique manner, book a hot air ballooning experience over Bath. A bird’s eye view is perhaps the best way to appreciate the beauty of Bath and the surrounding area.

Bath is situated in a sheltered valley surrounded by seven wooded hills, which you can see on your way over the city centre. The exact route a balloon flight would take is dependent on the wind direction. You could fly over the surrounding hills and then over the Roman Baths and the Thermae Bath Spa. You will probably see the Pulteneay Bridge, which is one of only two bridges in Europe that have shops on them.

There are many interesting churches in Bath, from the ancient Bath Abbey to the Large Gothic spire of St. John’s church.

Leaving the city centre, you can fly over the Cotswolds or the Mendips, and you may take in the Kennet & Avon Canal. You could even go as far as the stone circle of Stonehenge or Salisbury Plain. There are many picturesque villages outside Bath to see.

You will be able to take many spectacular photographs as the balloon slowly passes over the area, and to celebrate, a champagne toast is traditional either on the flight, or just after you safely land.

A hot air balloon flight over Bath is one of life’s peak experiences that you will remember for the rest of your life.
