The Space Coast Hot Air Balloon Glow Festival is returning to Florida just months after it wowed crowds with a balloon glow before Christmas.
The hot air balloon extravaganza launches at 5pm, and as dusk descends, balloon pilots light up their balloons in a coordinated balloon glow. The glows create a magical ambience as the sun goes down, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the awe and beauty of these vessels from a safe distance.
For those who are curious about what ballooning really feels like, some of the dozen balloons expected at the festival offer tethered flights that afford striking views over the local terrain. Younger visitors can explore fairground attractions at the festival, while local food stalls are on site to fuel the festivities.
Visitors to the Space Coast Hot Air Balloon Glow Festival can expect to catch a glimpse of famous balloon guests, such as Sylvester the Cat and his mouse arch-nemesis. Other balloons are expected to visit from around the world.
Last year’s event was a sell-out success despite the winter season, so visitors can expect even more to see and do in the warmer spring Floridian sunshine. The hot air balloon celebration is part of the Space Coast City Fest, the various events of which are occurring on consecutive weekends this month.
Closer to home, hot air ballooning adventures for the whole family can be had over the skies of Bath, Bristol and other parts of the south west.
