Hot air ballooning organisers announced this month the return of the Official Isle of Wight Festival next month.
The ballooning bonanza will take place at the picturesque Robin Hill in Newport, Isle of Wight. Robin Hill has a firm reputation for welcoming visitors all year round to its attractions and events. The return of the Isle of Wight Balloon Festival marks a high point in the local diary.
Last year’s ballooning event was called the Sky High Night Glow and attracted over 4000 visitors per day over the weekend. This year’s event is expected to welcome even more over its three days. Events visitors can expect to explore include tethered flights, where the balloons are attached to ground as they ascend a few meters from the ground to give passengers a taste of what ballooning is like. Flying experts will also be onsite to give talks and lectures about the world of hot air ballooning.
For those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground, toboggan rides, music and other attractions will be on hand to keep visitors entertained. Mass ascents of the balloons are also planned, as are the iconic nightglows that are part of the hot air ballooning community’s celebrations.
Hot air balloons never fail to capture the imagination, hence their enduring popularity. To get a taste of your own hot air ballooning adventure, we offer flights over Bath, Bristol and other parts of the South West of England.
