Tourists who visit Goa later in the year will have the opportunity to take a hot air balloon ride through the skies of the Indian state.
The Tourism Department of Goa has made the decision to launch both amphibious vessels and hot air balloons this summer, in order to enable visitors to explore the unique geography of the area from a different vantage point.
Speaking to Zee News, Nilesh Cabral, the Goa Tourism and Development Corporation Chairman, said:
“Both adventure services will focus on highlighting Goa’s hinterlands and will give tourists an opportunity to explore the rich geography of Goa via the sky and the waterways.”
Two firms have already been selected to run the tourism services, which are slated to begin in April. The aim will be for them to provide a safe and exciting experience for the state’s tourists.
The hot air ballooning flights will be provided by Camping Retreats, which is based in Delhi, whilst D’souza Leisure of Goa will be responsible for the amphibious vehicle service.
It has been revealed that up to six amphibious craft will be introduced to Goa’s network of ferry ramps, enabling tourists to explore both land and water journeys, as well as embarking upon bird watching and eco tours.
Meanwhile, those who prefer sky to land will be able to take part in hot air balloon safaris, which will initially be held close to the Dudhsagar water falls.
Of course, one does not have to travel to Goa to take part in a balloon adventure, with many UK hot air balloon rides in Bristol, Gloucester, and beyond.
