After two years of crowd-less ‘Fiesta Flypasts’ instead of its normal celebration due to the pandemic, Bristol’s biggest annual ballooning celebration is going ahead this year at Ashton Court, and it promises to be four days of entertainment for all the family.
The event will feature more than 100 hot air balloons taking off across four days, and the Bristol Balloon Fiesta organisers have promised to make up for lost time with balloons of all shapes and sizes, as well as fairground entertainment, music, food and drink.
Popular coffee chain Costa Coffee will also be present at the festival to continue its ‘A Coffee With’ experience, where guests can meet with pilots and explore balloons with a hot drink from a Costa Express machine.
There will also be the opportunity to join one of the hot air balloon rides in Bristol this year, with guests being able to purchase tickets to experience the Bath gin hot air balloon and fly 1,000 feet right into the heart of the Bristol Balloon Fiesta.
Bristol Balloon Fiesta celebrates its 44th year in 2022, and it is the first year since 2020 that crowds have been allowed at the celebration due to various pandemic constraints. Founder of the event, Don Cameron, is proud to be bringing the festival back to life, and said in a statement that:
“After a difficult two years for our communities and of course many of our balloonists, we are delighted to be bringing the fiesta back home to Ashton Court.”
The Bristol Balloon Fiesta will take place from the 11th to the 14th August.
